Trousers & chinos

Designed around the individual, with fit, proportion, and purpose considered from the start to create a garment that belongs in your wardrobe and feels distinctly your own.

Fabric

Choose from wools, linens, cottons, performance fabrics, and seasonal blends. Cloth is selected around how the trousers will be worn, with weight, drape, durability, and the rest of your wardrobe considered.

Construction

Construction is selected to suit the cloth and intended use. Waistband, pockets, closures, linings, and finishing are considered together to create trousers that wear comfortably and hold their shape.

Fit

Body measurements and posture are evaluated together to develop your individual pattern. Rise, seat, thigh, leg line, and finished length are adjusted to create the appropriate balance and proportion for you.

Style

Rise, pleats, pockets, side tabs, belt loops, cuffs, and other styling choices are yours to make without added charges. We don’t nickel and dime for design decisions. Upcharges are reserved for additional handwork and construction.

Trousers have to do more than simply fit at the waist. Rise, seat, thigh, leg line, and finished length all work together to determine how a pair hangs, moves, and relates to the rest of what you are wearing.

Those decisions depend on how the trousers will be used. Wool trousers intended to be worn with sport coats have different requirements than everyday chinos or a lightweight pair made for warmer weather. Cloth, weight, durability, proportion, and finishing should all reflect where the trousers belong in your wardrobe.

Fit is considered the same way. A higher rise changes the relationship between the trousers and the torso. Pleats require enough room through the hip and thigh to work properly. The width of the leg and the finished length affect the overall proportion. Each decision influences the next.

The objective is not simply to offer more choices. It is to use those choices together to create trousers that fit properly, work with the rest of your wardrobe, and make sense for the way you intend to wear them.
