Harrison & Park exists because that shouldn’t be the standard.
That belief was shaped by years of watching people accept compromises they had simply stopped noticing. A sleeve that never sat quite right. A jacket that fit well enough but never truly felt like theirs. Good enough became the expectation more often than anyone admitted. Good clothing should never ask someone to adapt to it. It should begin with the person wearing it. The way they live, the way they work, the way they move. Those things cannot be discovered with a tape measure alone.
Every commission begins with a conversation.
Not because conversation is tradition, but because understanding comes before design. A garment has a purpose long before it has a fabric. It belongs in a boardroom, at a wedding, on a flight across the country, or around a dinner table. Before a pattern is drafted, those questions deserve answers.
Only then do measurements become meaningful.
A pattern should not be adjusted until it is close enough. It should be developed for one person and one person alone. Construction, proportion, balance, and movement are considered together because none of them exist independently. A well-made garment is never the result of a single decision. It is the accumulation of hundreds of deliberate ones.
The goal has never been to create the loudest garment in a wardrobe. It is to create the one that quietly becomes indispensable. The jacket reached for without thinking. The shirt chosen first. The coat that never feels like an afterthought because it was designed for the life it would actually lead.
